Salinity and Temperature Profiles measured at Station Darss Sill

Temperature and salinity has been measured with Seacat SBE-16 recorder at a sampling time of 10 minutes. The instruments have been equipped with anti fouling cells which avoids successfully biological fouling. Intercalibration of the Seacat recorder with ship borne CTD-profiler is performed before and after each operating phase of about two to three months duration.   The achieved accuracy is about 0.01K for temperature and 0.02 PSU for salinity.

The instruments have been attached at a subsurface mooring in four depths 7m, 12m, 17m, and 19.5 m from 1992 to June 1994. The mooring was positioned within a distance of about 100m off the Darss Sill Mast.  The same type of instruments has been in operation at the Darss Sill Mast in the same depths since June 1994.

Partly loss of date occured due to different malfunctions of the instruments, e.g. ( leakage of connectors ). A time plot of temperature and salinity is given here.
